Weighted Yo-Yos

While away for vacation, I of course took along projects to work on. I took a knitting project, which actually didn’t end up getting worked on, an embroidery project, and a sewing project. The sewing project was small hand-sewn yo-yos that were weighted, for use as pattern weights. I was inspired by this post on a blog I read, A Spoonful of Sugar.

It was incredibly relaxing to sit looking out the window to the green trees and sewing. Good choice for a renewing time away! 🙂

Since making these, I’ve had the opportunity to use them, and I’ve been a little disappointed. If the fabric piece is small enough for these to weigh it down, it’s too small for the weight to fit on. Not to worry, though. I’m already making plans in my head for bigger and better and heavier weights. 😀
