I’m in the process of knitting a headwarmer. Some of you may be thinking, “Um, isn’t that called a hat??” Well, sometimes. In this case, it’s a pattern called Calorimetry, found in Knitty Winter 2006. It’s basically a wide headband, inspired, as the author says to be able to, “wear your hair up while keeping your ears warm and preventing heat from escaping from the top of your head.” See? Not a hat, but a headwarmer.

Anyway, enough of that. For those of you that are having trouble seeing this as anything that goes on your head, imaging that the widest part will be on the top of your head and the narrower ends wrap behind your head. See it now? No? Oh well. *sigh* You’re not the only one. I will prove the head worthy-ness of this eventually, just you wait.

  1. What a good idea. I looked at the pattern and I really like it. I bet you will enjoy wearing your headwarmer. Judy
